Chisinau, 9 January 2025 – A delegation from the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) in Kyiv, led by the Head of Office, Pietro Pipi, visited Chisinau to meet representatives of Moldovan government and institutional partners.
During the mission, technical meetings were held with officials from the Ministries of Energy, Agriculture, and Health, to discuss a potential expansion of the cooperation milieu. The mission was a good chance as well to take stock on programmatic and operational aspects of the recently approved initiatives of UNHCR and UNDP, respectively on the assistance to Ukrainian refugee and the digitalization of the energy sector and its alignment to EU standards.
The delegation also met with the Deputy Head of Mission of the Italian Embassy in Chisinau, Mr. Armando Pascale, to discuss the forthcoming 2025-2027 programming exercise.
With a total of €46 million, the 2024 programming aimed to promote Moldova’s sustainable growth and its incremental alignment to the EU Acquis Communautaire. In the wake of this objective, AICS delegation advanced on its commitment to support the Moldovan government.
This mission highlights Italy’s steadfast commitment to supporting Moldova’s development and stability, contributing to shared European and global objectives.
