In response to the urgent need to protect cultural heritage, the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation in Kyiv has allocated a contribution of 500,000 euros for the immediate provision of a protective cover for the Transfiguration Cathedral in Odessa. This intervention, part of the agreement signed with UNESCO, falls within the framework of Italy’s cultural patronage of the city and represents a concrete commitment to safeguard Ukraine’s rich cultural heritage, threatened by the ongoing conflict.

Additionally, as part of a three-year program, Italian Cooperation has allocated 46 million euros to support the reconstruction of Odessa, with the aim of promoting recovery and preserving the city’s historical and cultural identity.
